On my head, Son!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for popping over and taking a look.

Well today, I'm following on the card and gift theme with sweets yet again. This time though, they are chocolate and I can't eat chocolate as it gives me migraine, so they are perfectly safe where they are!!

I had this idea before Christmas but couldn't find any chocolate footballs in the supermarkets and shops that I looked in. I bought some Maoam Pinballs instead but the colours didn't match the card. Also, I ate them before I had chance to make the card! Lol!! So yesterday I went out to find some chocolate footballs and was expecting a long trek round the shops, but I found some in the first shop I visited!! I was so stunned, it totally threw me, I couldn't remember what other shopping I needed to do!

Anyway, enough about me and more about the card.

I took an A4 piece of white card, printed on both sides. I used a backing paper from the Moreheads CD Rom from Crafters Companion. I folded the card longways. In order to make a double easel, I cut one half of the card about two thirds of the way along so that the topper fit comfortably but still leaving enough room for the dome. The topper was also from the Moreheads CD Rom. This was matted and layered onto some blue cardstock from my stash. I printed out a starry backing paper also from the CD  and matted and layered this onto the blue cardstock. The matted and layered topper was then fixed to the backing paper using 3D foam pads.

The second easel was made using a dome from Katy Sue Design and placed inside the template provided with the dome. I used the template as it was a similar colour to that on the topper. I filled the dome with the chocolate footballs and attached the dome and template to some blue cardstock to match that on the other easel. I used the starry backing paper which was again matted and layered onto blue cardstock to match the first easel. The dome and card was fixed to the backing paper using 3D foam pads.

To make the base of the card more sturdy, I attached this to the matching blue cardstock. I used some cake decorations as the toppers - a football on one side and some football boots on the other. I matted and layered the sentiment onto backing paper and card once I had foiled it with my hot foiling machine. I attached some card candy to the two front corners of the base.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:-

It's snow time

Hi all,

Thank you for stopping by today.

Today, I thought I would share with you a card I made with the theme 'snow'. The topper is from the La Pashe Cd Rom, CD 1 of the Big Pair of 2012. I matted and layered this onto a dark blue card stock and then matted and layered these onto a silver mirri card. I used Deco Art Glistening Snow Writer for the snow effect. I have had this in my stash for years and never used it!!

I took an A4 piece of white card and made this into an easel card. I used some blue snowy backing paper from the Magical Christmas Moments CD Rom from Cupcakecrafting and matted this onto dark blue and then onto silver mirri as before.

I made a box using the same backing paper but this time printed onto card to make it more sturdy. I used my Hougie Board to help score the lines to make the box. I cut out an opening in the top and covered this with acetate so that the liquorice toffee sweets inside were revealed. I stuck all the sides down with red liner tape so that I could not get in to eat the sweets!! LOL!

I printed a sentiment  - 'It's snow time' using my computer and printer and foiled this using my hot foil machine. (This reminds me of Nicky Byrne when he danced on Strictly Come Dancing disguised as the Mask - "It's Show time".) This was then matted and layered onto the blue card and then onto the silver mirri so that it all matched. I tied a bow using silver ribbon which I have also had in my stash for ages and fixed this onto the top left hand corner using silicone glue. I cut out some snow flakes from silver mirri using my Big Shot machine and placed these on the sentiment and the topper. And that was it.

I hope the sweets remain in the box as long as the ribbon and Snow Writer have been in my stash - no I don't think so. Although Weightwatchers are trying to do their bit, I received a letter from them this morning inviting me to join their meetings. No, I don't think that's going to happen either!!

In the garden

Hi

I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you all that you wanted. For those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a great day doing whatever you were doing.

Today, my hubby and son have gone off to play snooker so I am catching up on my blog and doing some crafting. It is good to make some cards other than Christmas cards!!

Today I thought I would share with you a card that I made using the Garden Delights CD Rom from Cupcakecrafting.

I used a white A5 card in landscape. The topper was decoupaged and then matted and layered onto silver mirri. I used a coordinating pink dotty backing paper from the Cd and matted and layered this onto silver mirri. On the left hand side, I wound some baker's twine in a pastel pink around the backing paper  before fixing it onto the card blank. To finish, I fixed a pink rosebud where the twine crossed.

I love the colours on this one, it is so fresh looking after all the traditional Christmas colours that are around at the moment.

Thank you for calling by.

Happy crafting.

Thank you for taking the time to pop across and have a good holiday.

For those of you who do not celebrate Christmas, have a happy and peaceful few days.

Just a sentiment

Hi all,

Thank you for stopping by.

Today's card is my entry for Sheila's challenge over on My Craft Creations and also for Shopping our Stash.

The sentiment used is one from last years Kanban Christmas kit. I fixed this onto an A6 foiled card blank using 3D foam tape. The card blank was matted and layered onto some silver mirri card which was in turn matted and layered onto some foiled snowflake card from the same kit. This was then layered onto some more silver mirri. To the top left of the image I secured a silver ribbon from my stash, using silicone glue and to the bottom right I fixed 5 gems also from my stash. The sentiment reads 'May the blessings of Christmas be with you today and always'.

The challenges I would like to enter this card for are:
My Craft Creations - Just Sentiment - http://craftcreatoins.blogspot.co.uk/p/just-sentiment.html
Shopping our Stash - Sentimentally Yours - http://craftcreatoins.blogspot.co.uk/p/just-sentiment.html

For a crafty friend

Hi everyone,

Today's card is one which I made for a crafty friend. I hope she doesn't look at my blog until I give her the card!!

I used a scalloped 8x8 card as the base. I used an image from Docrafts Forever Friends - Timeless CD Rom and decoupaged this. I then fixed it on to a rosette which I made from a backing paper from the CD. I used my Hougie Board to make the rosette. This was matted onto a scalloped circle which I cut out on my Cricut machine using the Lacy Labels cartridge and a textured gold mirri card.

Using some white A4 cardstock, I printed two coordinating backing papers, one on the front and one on the reverse. I then cut two pieces, each measuring 11 inces by 5 and a half inches and scored these to make two 5 and a half inch card blanks. On the first one, I cut from the top of the centre score line diagonally to the bottom left hand outer edge; on the second, I cut from the top of the centre score line to the bottom of the right hand outer edge.I then fixed the two backs together and folded the fronts over each other and fixed these at the bottom edge with red liner tape. This made the wallet for my tag/message.I matted the wallet onto the textured gold mirri and placed this using 3D foam tape onto the same backing paper that I used for the rosette, but this time matted and layered this onto the textured gold mirri. I took some wide burgundy ribbon and some narrower burgundy and gold ribbon. I fixed the narrower ribbon onto the wider ribbon using red liner tape and then wrapped this around the backing paper and mirri and wallet before fixing it onto the base card. I tied a bow using both ribbons and fixed this to the ribbon  to the bottom right of the card using silicone glue.

I fixed the rosette onto the wallet over the ribbon. In the wallet, I placed a large tag which read:- "Dear Santa,
As my 'Crafty Friend' has been very good this year, please would you let her have....
Love Wendy xxx"
I attached a gold peg to the right hand corner which mirrored the peg on the image. On the left corner, I secured some red berries and a green leaf.

Rudolph and his mate

Hi All,

I'm sorry I haven't posted for a while. I've been bogged down with Christmas etc.  as you all probably have. Also my hubby was ill so that took up a lot of my time. Anyway, I'm back now so off we go.

Today I thought I would share with you one of my Kanban creations from a kit which was featured as Pick of the Week on Create and Craft last year. It is a simple creation but I quite like it with the gold on white, I think it looks clean and fresh looking.

I took two of the reindeer and mounted these onto 3D foam pads and then fixed these onto some white card. This was matted and layered onto gold mirri and then attached to an 8x8 white card. I attached a gold gem to each reindeer just below the antlers. I added a sentiment and three snowflakes down the sides.

I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:
