Rest In Peace, Marion

Hi,
Here is a sympathy card that I made yesterday following the passing of my brother-in-law's partner's mother who had been suffering with Alzheimers for a long while.

I normally buy my sympathy cards but saw this Cd over at Kraftyhands, and also saw some samples on Linda Simpson's blog and just felt that I had to have the Cd for those difficult cards that we all have to have/make at some time or other.

I used an 8x8 scalloped card blank. I matted a piece of the backing paper onto silver mirri and also one of the toppers onto the silver mirri. I took one of the sentiments into Paint and removed the printed sentiment . I then took this into Craft Artist and added my own sentiment - On the loss of your Mum -  and matted this onto silver mirri. In the bottom left hand corner I placed three cala lillies and added a purple bow.

In the inside, I took a plain insert from the Cd and placed this on the left hand side  and one of the inserts with a verse and placed this on the right hand side. There are two verses to choose from in each of the colourways as well as the one without a verse.

I added our names to the bottom of this.

I apologise for the poor lighting in the photographs but I was in a hurry to get this to Brian and Bridie and it was already dark when I took the photographs.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:-

This is a lovely card, Wendy...I'm sure your family will find it of comfort at this sad time.

Sympathy cards are always difficult to make, aren't they. (I found out last night that a friend's Dad passed away last week, so guess what I will be making this afternoon).

Thank you for joining us at Penny's Paper Crafty, and good luck in the draw.

Hugs,
Jennifer. x

Hi Wendy, it's never easy having to make a sympathy card you have made a fabulous job with this card, the colours although quite spring like are subtle and go perfectly with the image. I'd like to thank you for leaving such lovely comments on my blog xx
