Hi Crafters,
Today I thought I would share with you an 'interview' by Emma Goddard over on Emma's Hints Tips and Inspiration which she did last week after I won 'The Blog of the Week'.
BLOG of the WEEK Winner ...
Last weeks winner of the 'BLOG of the
WEEK'
in the group was
'Wendy
Himsworth'
What crafts do you do?
''I mainly make cards and 3D projects. I
occasionally knit and am able to sew and crochet. My hubby bought me a jewellery
making kit for Christmas so I hope to start that soon, also my son bought me a
parchment crafting kit and quilling kit, so I am going to be a busy bee over the
next few months.''
How long have you been crafting and why
did you start?
''My Mum taught me to knit, sew and crochet when
I was younger, so I have been doing those for quite a while. I started to cross
stitch just before my son was born, he will be 21 in July! I only started card
making about 7 years ago. I became ill after my Mum passed away and left my job
as a Teaching Assistant. A couple of ladies I worked with had started to make
cards and I felt that it was something that I would like to try. I somehow came
across Create and Craft on TV and started buying bits and bobs and my son and I
started to make cards. He soon grew out of it, however I carried on and I joined
a local craft class for a couple of months and learned a few ideas from
there.''
How would you describe your style of
craft?
''What is my style of craft? I enjoy CD crafting
the most and have lots of these in my craft room, I also like making 3D projects
and have a number of templates which I use. I would like to get into stamping
more and have recently won some digi stamps in various challenges, so I need to
use these together with my Spectrum Noirs which I recently purchased.''
Who / what is your
inspiration?
''When I first started watching Create and
Craft, my inspiration were people such as Sue Smith (by eye) from Kameo, Joanna
Sheen, The Glitter Girls, Michelle Marsden and Nancy Watt. Today I get my
inspiration from my crafty friends and from the challenge blogs that I visit.
There are some very talented people out there.''
How long have you been blogging and why
did you start?
''I started blogging in October 2012, so I’ve
only been blogging for about 4 months. I started because I wanted to join
another design team. I was already part of Lynda Chapman’s Cupcakecrafting DT
but enjoyed it so much I wanted to branch out as it were. Having read some DT
calls it seemed that you had to have a blog to become part of a team so I
decided to start one. Not being particularly very computer savvy, I found it
difficult at first, but found that fellow crafters were keen to help. I have since entered many challenges (and won some!!) and it is thanks
to my followers and crafty friends for their comments that make it all
worthwhile. In December I joined Feline Playful as part of the voluntary team.
Feline Playful is a blog which, each day of the week lists the challenges for
that day and also posts a list of challenge winners for that day. In January, I
was invited to join the DT at Kraftyhands by Mike and Ian, so setting up the
blog and taking part in challenges was certainly worth the effort. I have only
been part of the team for a short while, but everyone is very supportive and
talented.''
''Here are some of the samples that I have made
